4/15/20 I Hope & Service
Stories of Hope:
We celebrated the good news that Christ is Risen this Sunday, but the good news does not end there- Easter is a season in the life of the church, not just one day! Our congregation continues to share God's love and the good news of the Gospels in personal and heartwarming ways throughout this time of social distancing. Knowing that many people at Mt Vernon Towers are deeply isolated during this time, Ashley Miller mobilized members of our congregation to write cards for residents at the Towers and delivered them to the office to distribute this week.
While in-person visits are not possible, a team of 17 people from the congregation have also happily added phone calls to other church members as a part of their weekly routine, checking in on others to offer connection, assistance as needed, and prayer.
Our Easter offering for the local pop-up pantry housed at Under the Cork Tree and Samad Mediterranean Grill totals $1250 as of Tuesday afternoon! This gift will continue to feed families in our community who are impacted by this crisis.
No matter what is happening in the world around us, the people of Sandy Springs UMC are deeply dedicated to caring for the hearts, souls, and well-being of our community. We see God's love and the power of Jesus' resurrection lived out in this congregation in meaningful ways every day, and that gives us hope for today and the days ahead!
