A Word From Our Pastor
Welcome to the online home of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. We are a joy-filled, intergenerational, open-minded and service-oriented community in the heart of our thriving city. I hope you’ll take some time to explore our website and learn about opportunities to worship, serve, connect, and grow as we seek to love God and our neighbors:
What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
The best way to get to know us is to come visit–we’d love to see you for worship each Sunday at 11 a.m., for small groups in the community, and for service activities. Please reach out if you have questions or would like to know more. Know that whoever you are, wherever you find yourself on your faith journey, you are God’s beloved child and you are welcome here.
Grace and peace to you,
Rev. Kate Hurst Floyd, kfloyd@ssumc.org
Our Theology
Sandy Springs United Methodist Church is committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This means that in all we do, we are encouraging and empowering each other to grow deeper in their faith and to impact our community in a positive and meaningful way. We have structured our leadership in such a way to allow us to more freely empower each other to lead the church in exciting new ways.
As Methodists, we believe in a Triune God; in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. We believe in God’s grace, which is offered to all people. For this reason, our Communion table is open to all people who desire to partake in the Lord’s Supper. As a United Methodist Church, we uphold the United Methodist Book of Discipline, which guides our church structure and leadership. This book is derived from the teachings and methods of John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement.
