Week of July 6-11

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Morning Prayer

Dear God, we rejoice in your love, provision, and grace. We pray for our church, our community, and our world, knowing that you hold us in the palm of your hands. We give thanks for Sandy Springs UMC--for the saints who had the vision to hold a camp meeting at the springs, to the great cloud of witnesses who subsequently founded a church community, and to all those over the years who have shared their gifts to help our church grow and thrive. We know that just as your Spirit guided those throughout our history, your Spirit is guiding us today and into the future. We pray, without ceasing, that you lead us into a future of making disciples. We ask now, as we sit in silence, for your Spirit to guide us this morning. What is your will for our next chapter? You speak, we listen, praying without ceasing. Amen. 

Evening Prayer

Holy Creator, we rejoice in this day you have created, whatever it may have brought. We pray for our church, our community, and our world, knowing that you hold us in the palm of your hands. As the day closes, we continue to give thanks for Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and the ways you have guided, nurtured, and inspired this community of faith to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. You are good, all the time! As we head to rest, we pray again for you to lead us to a vibrant, fruitful future. We listen, oh God, for your voice. Your will. Your desires for our church. Speak, for your servants are listening. 

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
